Best bullets for Deer with the 30/30 AI

I have a 14" 30/30 AI on the way and I am looking for some thoughts on a bullet That will work for Deer. I have a 309 JDJ with 165's for larger stuff so this will just be a Deer gun. I know some of you have some experience with 30 cal bullets and Deer so let me hear it, Thanks Ronny

I have used the 135 single shot pistol bullet with great performance. Also the 125 balistic tip works real fine. I have a 14"Competitor in 30-30IMP and it's a great shooter. Looking to try the 150's next year since this round gets great velocity.

My 14" 30-30AI and 150gr BT's are 4 for 4 so far. Very good bullet performance at 2350fps.  Good Luck w/ your barrel, you'll love it.   :D  Walt

i have shot deer with a couple of different ones in my 30-30 14"...it isn't picky...
125 gr noslers bt work good and are accurate in my gun...
if range will be under 125yds...150gr hornady rn interlocks work fine too..that is what i use most of the time...i generally hunt in timber...shots are less that 100yds...that bullet it just perfect for that velocity range...plus they are cheaper too....have had friends who have also used the remington coreloc bulk bullets....same results...nothing fancy
you do have advantage with the AI as far as velocity...but i would stick to the softer ones....more shock value on a whitetail....
i would try the nosler bt 125 or 150gr, sierra ssp 135 and possibly the 150gr rn hornady or sierra.

shot a couple does at 50 n 75 yards with the 14" 30-30AI using the hornady 130gr ssp.  works great!

The .30-30 AI, which I don't have, and the .30-40 Krag, which I do, are about the same in the Contender.  I've had good success with the 130 Hornady SSP, the Sierra 135 SSP,  the 125 Nosler BT, the 150 Nosler BT, and the 150 Remington RN.  I presume these would all work fine in the .30-30 AI; fine the one that shoots the best and go shoot what ever you want to shoot with it.
