Using JB Compound to polish the bore,  do the patches continue to blacken or will they eventually maintain the brown color of the JB?  I tried polishing the bore of a new rifle prior to shooting and after 50 strokes the patches still turn black as night?
My prayers are always answered,  sometimes the answer is no...........

Not only will the polishing patches turn black and stay black, it will take you the better part of an hour of cleaning with regulars patches, brushes and solvent to get white patches out of your bore again. I guess it is the material your are scrubbing off the bore wall.

I use WipeOut after a polish job, works well, better than any solvent that I've used.
