Looking to buy a 4x4 for hunting/fishing and just plain fun.
Have looked at em all, I have it narrowed down to a Honda foreman 500
or a Polaris 600. I saw the Polaris weights almost 200lbs more then the honda!! thats alot. I need some outside advice on which one.

not to throw a monkey wrench in your decision, but I would recommend a Kawasaki Prairie 650cc.  It's plenty powerful, proven, has locking diff'.  That or the Artic Cat 500cc.   Good luck.

I can tell you this - weight matters.  There is a big difference between my nimble little Honda Recon 250 and my Kodiak 400.

The heavier it is, the harder it is to manuver.  Shifting your weight forward and back etc will have a lot less impact on a heavy quad.  Also think about this an addditional 200 pounds will do to you if it ever rolls over you on a steep hill.

Thats what I think also. I have ruled out the SP 600 for that reason.
I rode the Kodiak yesterday and WOW its nice. Has room, power, its auto and has a diff lock. I will ride the foreman 500 today for the first time.
I like the Man. shift better then the ESP.  I need to make a decision
between the yahaha 450 or honda 500 today

since you moved away from 600cc and are debating between the yamaha 450 and the Honda 500, I personally reccomend the Yamaha 450.  Good luck.

I agree!  The Yammy is definitely the best of the 2.

Weight is a mute issue when it comes to when the going gets rough.

What is the best mud ATV out there...Polaris IMO....what is the heaviest ATV out there....Polaris hands down.

There is a good reason the Polaris is heavier. The Polaris is probably the toughest made ATV out there right now. Most of the bikes are made heavy-duty. I thought the same thing a long time ago thinking that the grizz was much lighter....go and replace all the light duty stuff with heavy duty stuff and the grizz isn't much lighter than the Polaris'
