Got a new shotgun
« on: January 30, 2005, 03:09:38 AM »
For my birthday my wife bought me a NEA single barrel 12gauge. As a boy I had a Stevens & Fox and a H&R just like it. This shotgun takes me back to the woods and fields of my childhood. I can hardly wait to shoot it.
I noticed something I would like to ask about here. The gun is a New England Arms with that on the side but, the butt plate is a H&R 1871. I believe they make both of these guns at the Garner, Mass. plant, I wonder if someone just reached into the wrong box and put this H&R butt plate on my NEA stock?

They are the same company now. H&R and NEF come from the same factory. And Marlin is their parent company now. The quality doesn't seem quite as good as the old H&Rs but you can't beat it for the price. Enjoy your new gun and come back here and post your questions and experiences with it.Take a look at the H&R/NEF site at www.HR1871.com

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun
