FYI,

I bought a new Aetec at a Scheels store a couple of years ago.  I think it was a display model, as they had lost the lenscaps and sunshade.  I called simmons on thursday, and they said they would mail them out.  No inquisition, no nothing, no cost.  I was surprised and impressed.  It was good pr at least to me.

I like Simmons . I love the Aetec. Midway has them on sale for 128.00 right now. I have never had a bad Simmons but I have only bought the Aetec and Pro-Hunter straight power scopes.
shot placement is everything.

I also have had great luck with Simmons scopes. Although I only have the 6.5-20x50 WTC and their great and inexpensive 30mm Red Dot. The Red Dot was so great 3 others I know who have shot mine have purchased the same one, for $28.00!!!!....<><....

I think that Simmons, and here in Arkansas, Bushnell, have gotten such a bad rap is because of the extreme low end scopes in their lines.  When the scope is "free" with a Remington 710 or a Savage (nothing against Savage) then it is probably crap.  I love my Simmons ATV, for $79 bucks then only real problem is the 3" of eyerelief.  But you can't have it all for less than $125.  You CAN get a reliable scope though.

Have never had any trouble with my Pro-Hunter 3-9X40 or my .22 Mag. Both are very bright and clear and stay right on target.

Wonder what they will have new for 2005? I would like to see some more straight power scopes, I don't need variable power scopes all the time. I have a Pro Hunter 6X that I really like. Nothing much to go wrong with straight power scopes.
shot placement is everything.

the Simmons Aetec scopes are one of the best buys going today.when you can buy one for $130.00 there is nothing out there to thats comes close to them.i own 3 of the Aetecs and i have them on my main hunting guns.i love that 5 inch of eye releaf when the scope is set on the lowest power setting.i can load my muzz loader up to max with no fear of getting scope eye with a Aetec scope.the Bushnell trophys do come close to the Aetec  scopes for being a good bargin but the eye releaf doesnt come close to the Aetecs.the warranty on them is very good too but everyones warranties are good on scopes today
