my new handi came out of the box with a 4.3lb.pull. i read the posti notes,and all the other post on trigger jobs even downloaded perklos instructions.bought the items i dident already have.$53.+ and proceeded to disassemble the receiver...trigger came out fine the hammer spring came out just like the instructions said....then i started beating on the retaing pin some more???(brain fart) managed to break off the sear from the bottom of the hammer where the pin passes through..$8.+ and $25.+for overnight shipping...and i cleaned everthing,bored out the trigger extension,and polished the parts shown in perklos photos..put it all back togeather agin(with my wifes help)and it felt better.....took it back to same gunsmith for a new digital weigh-in.took 5 readings all different.added them up, divided by five and setteled on 3.15lbs gunsmith said he would not work on a handi...well i showed him......i go to the range tomorrow and ill let you all know how she shoots...Oh i do no that i could have sent my receiver in to nef and gotten a new barrel and a Free trigger job.....but but but you know the rest of the story.

Hmm, $53??? For what, I have done 4 of em now at no cost. No broken parts either. I can see buying a couple pin punches, maybe a fine stone, but what else??? All of mine have come out at 2.3 - 2.4lbs on a digital trigger scale, are smooth, no creep and break like glass.

I did the same thing on my first effort. The sear broke off the hammer when I went to put it back in for a second try. I got mine from Brownels, but waited a bit longer for it, and didn't spend that kinda money on the shipping. I already had all of the other tools I needed, so no cost for me there either. The first one is the hardest, they get easier each time.

8oz brass hammer $9.99,calipers $19.99,drill bits 3.66 ,needle ns.plyers 1.99,drimel polish paste 2.94,dremel cut-off wheels 6.97,sand paper 2.50,3/16 pin punch2.44 and since i could not find the sm.pin punch i used a drill bit.(broke first one)3.00 total $53.48. fun!! priceless.......yes i think for a fellow like myself..i did ok......and next time i will buy a honeing stone and try that a few licks...pluss i spent $40. for a survivor buttstock + 5.00 shipping........looks great and feels good..

Now aren't you proud of yourself, and what fun it is to try something like this and succeed. You probably needed those other things anyway. The trigger job just gave you an excuse for getting them. Congratulations.

Yeahbut, you had all that fun and you still have all the tools so the next one you do will be easier and no cost out of pocket! I guess those of us that already have all the tools just take em for granted....
