Rifles in Europe vs USA

Are American made rifles as popular in Europe as European rifles are becoming in the USA?  I see more and more rifles and scopes from Europe being made in cheaper versions for the American market.  I just wonder if Remington, Winchester, Ruger etc  are making  more expensive guns to appeal to the people over there.  Just a thought but maybe the rifles are more expensive in Europe because only the weathly can hunt over there.  I am glad I am over here. :wink:

I own both European and US made rifles, and let me tell you, generally speaking, of the newer rifles built, the US quality is not as good as it used to be, and the European rifles still as good as they used to be.  Part of the reason for this is because European rifle makers use much more human labor as part of their craftmanship and quality control.  I wouldn't be surprised if US makers export their rifles overseas, but I don't think it would be that much.  The Europeans have an eye for quality.  Take a look at Tikkas, they are the about the same price, or less, than a Remchester, but have twice the quality.  Everyone knows that the quality contol of the Remchesters in recent years, generally speaking, has gone downhill.

From my limited 'connections' in Europe, I'd have to say no.
As Zachary said, Europeans have an eye for quality, and its awfully hard to beat (or even match) the quality of most Euopean guns.
THe most popular American guns are lever action just 'cause no-one else makes 'em.
