I would give the nod to the 7000 because it has a target barrel I would also give it the nod over the Remingon considering the negative comments about them. To be fair though I never shot a Remingon 597 and as far as negative comments Some have been said about the Henry Lever actions also but were unfounded as the Henry is a great gun and very accurate so I guess you should take all comments with a grain of salt and pick and decide for your self and use these forums for only a guide line. Speaking of the REM 597 I hear alot were crap. IF there is a good one maybe I just got the luck of the draw. Accurate and no other so called problems as many have had. Realy like this this little REM. Sometimes you just get lucky at least for the first 1500 or so rounds.

TeePee, Hey if it shoots good great! A person has to wonder some times online if folks really shoot the guns or even have owned one of the guns  they complain about?  I know darn well some of the folks who complained about Henry 22's never shot one before or owned one! I have some issues with Rugers but I have owned them and shot them too. I guess any gun co can have a clunker now and then but some guns seem to get a rep some for good reasons and some for no reason at all.
