Whoa, Sorry guys, I have to disagree with the 223 in a modern AR configuration. It is a great gun. I agree it is disliked by a lot of Vets and respect that opinion, because they got some bad ones, but the rifle has changed. I have never had a jam nor a mis-feed, but I do keep it clean! Ammo is still cheap, but I agree that neither is as cheap as an SKS and ammo...NOW...if you guys can read, the visiting team won't be carrying AK's and such. They won't be coming through Alaska or Georgia or Alabama, They're already here! Mr Ridge and his Home Defense team called good ol US Army et al,(Including NATO troops) will be knocking. Constitution states that US Troops can't fire on US Citizens or somthing like that. It change with a signature when our leaders this we're unsafe and unruly. Do you really think the Brady Bill Gestapo is tossing all the instant checks? Look what they're doing in VA with the so called 'tips' about the DC snipers. Innocent people are losing thier guns right before our eys. How many of you guys are hearing about that on TV or in the paper? I saw it only once, and it wasn't a headline. No sir, the visiting team is already here. They can dry up the 7.62x39 in a heartbeat--pack it away now. As for me, I see how dependable and accurate the AR-15 is every week at the DCM Hi-Power shoots. Look what wins Camp Perry now, and those boys shoot 600 yds. Yeah, they'er special heavy bullets for the 600yd stuff, but your factory SKS doesnt do real well at 600 either. Surplus 30rd GI mags are all around and cheap. A guy can carry 10 or 15 mags real easy. If you need more in your present fire-fight, you have real problems in your neighborhood. My other choice is my Cetme 308. I have extra maggies for it, and alot of ammo. I shoot Hi-poer with a M1A also, but it is a little heavy to tote unless it's an emergency, but I would not feel undergunned with either. My 12 PUMP Riot is next to my bed! Nope, when I gotta scoot and shoot, it's with my AR and my M92 and 5 hi-caps. I hope I didn't offend anyone with this opinion, but keep watching the news and the erosion or your 'RIGHTS', especailly the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. BTW-they won't be coming for mine, I sold every one except my shot-gun, and that fell in the lake duck hunting! Take care, and good hiding. This post is probably being watched, so I have to go prepare for the black helicopters tonight!
