I was looking on the Remington site today. I saw an 870 combo with a 26 inch Remchoke barrel and 20 inch rifled slug barrel. Anyone have one? How does it perform?

Shoot a few slugs whenever you change barrels. The 870 is a great gun, but most guns will not let you switch barrels and remain zeroed with the slug barrel.

If the barrel-reciever fit is sloppy, the point of impact can change, with the scope or sights on the barrel. I think it might be due to barrel movement, sort of like in a poorly bedded rifle. Alot of centerfire rifles shift POI just from removing and re-installing the stock. Not always alot, but enough to warrant checking zero each time.

Jim,

I have the 870 Express Combo and like it quite a bit. I bought it because I was on a budget but it has grown on me and served me very well since I have gotten it. Performance wise, it is reliable and durable for trap and field duty. Just wipe it down at the end of the day and give it a good cleaning and it will serve you well.
