I thought this was a very thoughtful and informative piece for those of us who want to reload but don't need to do a lot of it.

I use a Lee hand press and thats all I use to load my rifle cartridges and I love it. You know loading is not exactly rocket science and back when cartridges first came out they reloaded them with a lot less sophisticated tools than we have today! I like Lee products and they work fine. Those that have more expensive tools that put them down in my estimation are reloading snobs! There is no law saying you HAVE to like something and if you do not like Lee fine but those that have expensive equip ( we all know the co) that says Lee sucks compared to our stuff to me is just acting snobbish! Lee stuff has never let me down and for that I am happy but then I drive a GMC instead of a Cadilac also so I guess my tastes are a bit more moderate than some. :grin: Jim

I'll second that praise. Except for the Herters stuff I still have almost all my reloading gear is Lee.

All I ever used up until this past Christmas were 3 Lee hand presses. I reloaded everything from .22 Hornet to .338WM to .450 Marlin with them. Since I got the Redding T7 turret, the Lee's are semi-retired, but I don't think I'll ever give up using them completely. I also found that the more I used my Lee dies, the less I liked the RCBS and Hornady dies I had. Just so much easier to adjust and perfectly good for the hunting level accuracies I need.

Amen Brother!

I recommend the Original LEE handloaders to newbies that don't know if they want to reload or not, or somebody that says they are just getting by and want to shoot more, but are finding shooting factory ammo too expensive.

On the other forums, the lucky rich reloaders Pooh Pooh the LEE Handloaders when they are recommended and instead try to talk about their DILLON 650's to somebody who hasn't as much money to spend.
I don't believe the naysayers have ever enjoyed the experience or know what they're talking about.

I am the proud owner of eighteen Original LEE HANDLOADERS and I have rifles, pistols , and shotguns in calibers and guages to match.

Yea it does not take much to reload a shell. The DIllon loaders should see what some of the folks use in primitive countries to get the job done! A origional Lee loader kit would be a joy and high tech to them. Jim

Well I'll say one thing, if you buy the excellant Dillon 550 for about $375 ready to load you'll have paid for it in no time because of the money and time saved. I've had mine for 10 years now and I can't imagine going back to a Lee handiloader. I will be through with a 1000 rounds :grin: and out shooting while the Lee guys are still screwing around with the first box.

That may be true but I can load shells as fast with my Lee hand presses as any one with a single stage bench press. In fact faster as I have two presses I could set them up for the sizing die and the bullet seater with out changing back and forth. Then finish with the factory crimp die. The thing is I do not mind taking my time to reload. The origional Lee tools did work fine though they were slow but then who said reloading had to be a speed contest? I do not shoot a semi auto or shoot competitivly so A couple of hours here and there I can load all I care to shoot at a setting at the range.
