Been looking for some new adventures and been thinking of taking a trip south of the border. Once choice is to leave San Diego and drive on down to the Cabos. The next choice is to leave El Paso or Presidio and drive on down to the Creel and the Copper Canyon area---my first choice. Was thinking of doing it on my own, not in a caravan. So, in this day and age is that advisable or am I just plain askin for it!!!? No real itinerary yet just general lookin around and a few treks planned. What say you guys living in the border states??

I don't think a trip into Northern Mexico alone is a good idea. Lots of really bad stuff happening to Gringos who venture south on their own. Go to Las Vegas instead. The water isn't as good and it's still dangerous, but the colored lights are prettier!

PS: Nevada is still part of "Free America".

Don't go to Mexico. The police chief might end up driving your free truck while you rot in jail.
