96/44 Any hope?

I have a 96/44 that patterns about 8.5X11!!  I put about 50 rounds of jacketed through it cleaning after each 10 rounds.  Do these things get better or should I send it back to Ruger?

At what range?  Have you tried different bullet weights loads?
