Baikal IZH94's becoming non existent
« on: February 01, 2005, 05:47:33 AM »
I was just at EAA's site, the importer of Baikals in this country, and they no longer list any specs for Baikal's., except for a pistol. I perused the site further, and there is a blurb in the news section, that as of Nov. 2004, a backdoor deal was struck with Remington to be the exclusive importer of these guns in the 'Spartan' line, and that EAA is no longer importing Baikals. I looked on Remingtons site, and the IZH94 specs show a hardwood stock & forend, versus the walnut that comes on a Baikal. Just like Reminton to cheapen the gun up, and increase the price considerably, I am sure !!!!! I called my dealer, as I really would like to order an IZH94 in 12 gauge over 30-06, and he tells me there aren't any around to speak of, he's looking for me. Just to forwarn you, if you want an IZH94, NOW is the time to try locating one, because it appears they are going to disappear, and become Remington Spartans.
Sincerely,
 Garry
