I'm looking for input as to Fixing the Savage trigger. Any diagrams and instruction on a GOOD fix would be appreciated.

Or, is the Gunbasix trigger for $80.00 the best way to go?
I'm looking for as close to glass rod - no creep trigger, that is also lighter than most would be comfortable with in a hunting gun. Can this be had with the factory trigger?

The Rifle Basix trigger is available for about $65 at Midsouth. There's also a trigger sticky in the Savage forum at www.rimfirecentral.com

Ichose the Rifle Basix trigger. Take your time when adjusting it and it will give the perfect break. I have mine set to max weight (1.5 pounds) and it will go lighter. Most of my other guns are around 2 pounds.

Well, if you just want to spend the $80 dollars, go for it!........I added the shims, .025 under the front and rear of the trigger, and cut 2 coils off the spring........total cost 55 cents..........Much improved the trigger pull. I don't have a pull gauge, but am guessing somewhere in the 3 to 4 pound range and breaks clean with no creep.....just about right for me.......I was figuring that if I wasn't happy with the shims then I'd order the rifle basix trigger........I'm very happy with the shims and don't think I'll add the trigger.......55 cents....or $80?........$80.....verses......55 cents? What do you have to loose if the shims don't work?

I have the Rifle Basix trigger installed in my Marlin 917V and a Rifle Basix sear installed in my Savage 93R-17 BVSS.
Personally I think it was money well spent and have been very pleased with the adjustable triggers. I can adjust to my taste and type of shooting.
If you decide to try one, be patient, you may have to make a couple of adjustments to get it like you want it.
ps: If you want a really slick trigger, hone all mating surfaces before reinstalling adjustable trigger/sear. Just hone smooth and do not change the angles.
