Another rifle manufacturer on the wrong path...
« on: February 10, 2005, 09:05:04 AM »
In the news site    www.worldnetdaily.com         (2/10/05) ...news is coming across that Steyer Mannlicher of Austria is selling 800 sniper rifles to Iran...

This doesn't please me since my #1 grandson may have to take those snipers on directly if we have a "brush" with lran...

Our state dept has made known our distain for such a sale....but apparently Steyer Mannlicher is determined to supply the terrorist side...something to think about when shopping for a new rifle...

Hmmm . . . if we could talk Tony Blair into getting the Iranians to switch over to the SA80 bullpup for their Army - that would help us a lot in an upcoming "altercation".   :)

A:  It won't do them any good.  The Iranian armed forces suck.
B:  If the sale is confirmed, I know I will never buy another Steyr product.

You will note...most terrorists are armed with AKs...and I don't believe it is because of the AK's " outstanding inherent accuracy "...

I have purposely watched and have noticed that even the new Iraqi security forces have AKs rather than M16s...

The rifles Steyer is selling to the terrorist state is not a ' run of the mill " military rifle....it is a special sniper rifle.

Of course, Steyer has a right to sell to terrorist states if they wish, but loyal AMERICAN shooters have a right to buy what they wish.

Should Steyer be reminded of Smith & Wesson ?

Good point Ironglow.  When I managed the gun shop, we refused to sell any S&W guns.

People with short memories ????   One of the last things George Custer said at the Little Big Horn was, "where in the hell did those indians get them Winchester 73s ????

Yup!  Something like that Jim!  Actually, most of the rifles used to defeat the army soldiers who retreated up on the hill were the ones taken from the dead soldiers who were in Custer's column down in the ravines.
