just got an NEF synthetic in 22 hornet and mounted a Leupold M8-4X, but I have a Bushnell 4-12x that could go on it too.
The 35 v-max sounds like it could be a little light on the penetration for yotes. The 50g. bullets are most likely too heavy for enough speed to have decent tragectory. So I'm leaning towards the 40-45g. bullets. The ones to catch my eye are the 40g. BT or the 45g. Sierra Hornet. I have some AA no. 9 but I'll probably get some Lil-gun too. But my buddy liked 1680 in his Hornet.
I have seen where a LOT of people use small pistol primers in thier Hornets, but they never say WHY? What's the deal? What's the difference. Please clue me into which direction to go on primers. I have seen where some folks report accuracy gains with the small pistol primer. But last time I checked the case looked to me like a small rifle case, hmmmmmmmm.
Thanks for your help deciding,
Redrider.
