CASE STUCK IN SIZING DIE! HELP!

You will need to drill out the flash hole with a #7 drill bit, then thread the hole with a 1/4-20 tap then use a 1/4-20 bolt and the right size washers to draw the case out. The reloading companies sell a kit with the above tools and instructions. one cruder way is with the die in the press or in a vice clamp a pair of vicegrips on the head of the case and strike the vicegrips with a hammer. I hope this helps.

Strip out all of the die you can unsrew and tap from top or heat die with Propane torch lightly then spray some WD40 inside the case.

Stuck case?

Don't you just hate it when that happens?  I had to do this a few years back after loaning my .223 dies to a "friend".

I put some Kroil into the die body, then let it set for 24 hours.  Drilled out the flash hole, and used an "easy out" clamped in a vice grip to twist the case out.  It would probably help to heat that die body as well.  It worked for me, but just depends on how stuck that case is.

Bet you don't do that again! :D   Good luck with it!!

I have removed the decapping pin and used a small pin punch or brass rod and tapped them out while still in the press. Hope you get it out.  :D

my son was the one that stuck the case, so i,m not sure how the lube was being applied. but he seems to have more trouble than i do. this set of .222rem dies, have never given me any trouble, but he has a set of .308 dies that are on the verge of sticking all the time!  they may have a rough interior. varmint al has  polishing instructions, for chambers and i think dies. if they were mine, i would give it a try, but the boy, is too busy!

Time to switch lubes. Everyone needs to do this at least once. Youll remember to lube the case the next time.
