I am not sure if your doing right ebonite kid, I still have my 336 in .35 Remington and would not sell it for anything, just to many good old memories. Just because I like these Handi's I still like my old Marlin as well. If you don't sell it and still want to get rid of it let me know. I would rather have you find some way to keep it though. Bad luck to you ebonite kid, I hope you either get a LOT for it see you keep it and get another Handi also!!!....<><....

If it shoots well and you like it,I wouldn't sell it.I have done this in the past and wish I had several of the rifles I sold off to buy bigger and better things. You will probably regret it later.

Same here...I just "had" to have a Weatherby 257 mag...sold my sweet 1895 ported GS to get it...it took 8 months to get another one...my advise...if it shoots and you feel comfortable with it...and really don't want to trade...then don't...

Thats very sad Longcruise, I feel badly that it has come to this and hope that someday you return to the fold. Many of us have gone through this searching phase during our shooting/gunning maturation, thinking that there is something better out there, but take heart, most of us come to our senses before it's to late....<><....

to be honest with you guys....i really dont like the marlin because..ammo is really hard to find around here, and when you do its almost 20 dollars a box. and also i feel i dont take my time when i make shots with it because i know that i still have 5 more after that.Last year i used it opening day of deer season and i had a 4 pointer run by me at 50 yards and i just started firing, but the thing was that i wasnt following through just pointing and firing,i ended up hitting that deer with all 6 shots, and the only reason i got it was because i broke both of its hind legs and finally hit it in the guts!i felt so ashamed that this year,i used my savage 110 30-06 and only put 1 shell in it,last week of the season we were doing a drive and my father pushed a big doe past me at 75 yards moving fast, and i knew i only had 1 shot to make it count and i followed through with it and she dropped in her tracks.

sooo...i feel with only having a single shot,i am more likely to concentrate on what I have to do to quickly harvest the animal.and yes,i could just use the savage...but i think of it as a good excuse to get another gun :P

Yeah, there's nothing like knowing you only got one shot to make you make it a good one.

I seriously don't understand the limiting myself to one shot.  I mean, I certainly don't think you need any more, but using anything other than a semi-auto (which I don't find attractive for hunting) I'd certainly never be able to get in another shot anyways.  Guess it could be just the areas I hunt (fairly thick cover), but for the most part anything I carry is a "single shot" even if it can hold several rounds in the mag ;).

I'm certainly not ragging on the Handi's, they're excellent values, but I see them being a single-shot simply as a non-issue rather than a plus.

If it bugs ya that bad just load a round in the chamber and leave the mag empty.

Heck, don't feel bad for me.  My biggest downfall is that my shooting interests are too eclectic and I don't have the time or money for all of them.  I try to keep at BPC, Milsurps, ML, modern bolt guns, bows, etc.  Lately I've been able to get off the pistol kick
