PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, sent Alaska Governor Frank Murkowski a letter asking him to make it illegal to catch and eat king salmon friday.  PETA said fish are intelligent and feel pain.  They went on to say "Fishing is an archaic and cruel way to spend time.  PETA feels it is only a matter of time before people consider it cruelty.  Murkowski"s spokesman says it is "Typical PETA propaganda".

Have you taken your fish to the veterinarian for a check up lately?  If not, I would strongly urge you to do so.  Remember, fish are people too!

I've heard this quote several times and I like it:

"If a PETA member is being mauled by a bear, should we intervene or let 'nature take it's course' like they'd want to do?"

Does this mean I can claim all the fish as dependents on my taxes. :-D  :) These people should be sterilized and not allowed to give birth. What a bunch of nuts. :-D  :)  :D

Hey, they forgot about the worm that you impaled on a hook in order to catch a fish!  That worm feels pain too!  It's probably as smart as a PETA person too!  :wink:
