I used to get a magazine called Varmint Master, wouldn't be the same one would it?  Also does anyone have a web site address where a guy could order it?  Can't find any around these parts.  Lawdog

Yep Lawdog. It's the same one, just a different name.

I've been getting it for years untill a few months ago. I realized then that it was about 75% advertisments(yes I actually counted them), and decided it had gotten to the point that it just wasn't worth it anymore.

It's a shame too, because several years ago, it was about the best one out there in my opinion.

You may be right, but Predator Extreme came out imidiately after Varmint Masters magazine disappeared, so I just figured they changed the name.

The same writers write for both magazines, and Bill Bynum was an editor for Varmint Masters as well. I even remember when he took over editing the whole magazine(Varmint Masters). If I'm not mistaken I saw somewhere on the net, a discussion on a Varmint hunting board that Varmint Masters changed it's name due to (I can't remember exactly) either another magazine, or an internet forum with a similar name.

It's a crying shame to me that such great magazines have to always end up packing so much advertisments that the articles suffer by it. I miss the old Varmint Masters magazine really bad! Now that was an exellent magazine for the money.

On a side note, I did pick up a very good magazine a few weeks ago.

Deer & Deer Hunting magazine put out one called Predator Hunting 2004-2005. Now this is how they should be layed out. Its 82 pages long, and has only 23 pages with any advertising on them. Most of those pages have only a very small block at the bottom corner of the page, and there are very few full page ads.

This particular magazine has some very good reading in it too!

"Varmint Masters" became "Predator Xtreme". Bill Bynum was the editor. He has left and is working on getting a new magazine out.........

I wrote for the old VM and the new PX.

I'm not much impressed with the Predator Extreme mag.  Last one I got had a 2 full page ad followed by 2 half pages of an article bragging on the previous ad.  Literally thumbed thru it, noticed the same format throughout the mag and chunked in the trash.  A complete waste of money as far as I can tell.

Hey Joe,

I have not been doing as much calling as I like, but I have been out there. The weather has been pretty bad.......

I am going to do some calling again this weekend in between hunting hogs up near Abilene.

Here is one from a couple of weeks ago near Ozona. I was calling for fox and bobcats on a friend's deer lease. This ended up being a miracle coyote. It is the only one anyone has ever called in on this ranch in the 15 years they have been hunting it.

Good Hunting,

Bob
