factory trigger job
« on: February 17, 2005, 01:24:30 PM »
hello;

my handi is very sensitive to the way the trigger is pulled.  must be very careful on the finger position, and trigger pull.  just as noted in many post.  several questions.

has anyone sent their handi to h&r for a trigger job?
after factory trigger job,  trigger still sensitive to the way it's pulled?
h&r web site does not quote a price, what was the fee?

thanks for any input.

Factory trigger jobs are free if the pull is over 5lb, $20 if it is already under 5lbs....I've had 2 done, they both test to a little over 3lbs...I've been doing my own since they started charging...mine test at 2lbs-3oz to 2lbs-6oz using the trigger hone instructions sticky in the H&R Misc forum and Perklo's instructions for guidance on R&R...

My .223 had the crispest 7.5 lb trigger there ever was.  I did the Raynor / Perklo trigger job to it and now its a sweet 2 1/4.  I tried it with a softer trigger return spring but that put it around 1 lb which was too low for me so I put the stock spring back in.  Next chance I get I'll  do the .17hmr & .22wmr.  they are around 4 1/2 from the factory.
My prayers are always answered,  sometimes the answer is no...........

Oh man!  THAT'S what I forgot.  I just sent my rifle in for a new barrel, but I forgot about having them do a trigger job.  I guess I'll call them and ask if they can do it.  Will that delay my rifle from being returned?
