2700 fps out of a 30-30 Handi
« on: February 17, 2005, 12:18:19 PM »
Today I chronographed a Barnes 130 grain X bullet at 2702 fps out of my 1994 SB1 30-30 Handi. This was the first time I have done so with no pressure signs showing up. I chronographed identical other rounds at 2694 and 2690. I might be on to something here and will keep you posted. According to other Barnes data and articles, I should be able to easily do that with the XLC'x and the TSX's

My supply of the old style XBT's without the shoulder is just about gone so I think I'll experiment with the newer offerings in the future.......Chainsaw

Man, that's smokin' for a 130 grain bullet according to all of my load data.

I'm very curious about what you used to develop such an extraordinary 30/30 load?
If at first you don't succeed, by all means try again. But if this doesn't work, give up, because there is no sense in making a darn fool of yourself.
