Was the original Colt SAA model 73 ever made with a brass strap in the center of the handle, or were these only blued steel?

The original Colt SAA'a had steel trigger guards and backstraps.

Some models of the Colt percussion revolvers had brass backstrap and/or trigger guards. Ocasionally someone would put a backstrap and trigger guard from an 1860 Army Colt on a SAA, as the 1860 Army's had a longer grip. The factory never did this that I'm aware of.

Many of the Italian clones have had brass grip frames.  I think it is quite pleasing on some guns.  Had an engraved Dakota once that had a nickled frame, brass grip frame, and all other parts were blued.  Definately not original, but quite striking.  44 Man

My Uberti Peacemaker clone (Cabela's Milennium) has an unfinished brass backstrap and trigger guard which I've thought about finishing/polishing, but then I'll look again at it and realize it's just right the way it is.  I've been hoping Qualite would bring out a Brass version of the Bisley grip for the Rugers.
