I have Hodgdon's data manual #26 in looking up data for my 243 I noticed for the 100gr bullets that max charge weight 2-4 grs higher than what is now posted on the web and some other publications. I have seen changes with other cartridges with perhaps one or two powders but not a cross the board like this were there pressure problems? Just curious as to what other guys are loading with this bullet weight

I use 41.5 grains of IMR 4350 with 100 grain Nosler Partitions. This gives me a chronographed muzzle velocity of 2872 fps.

The .243 can be quite sensitive with heavier bullets. I have loaded 95 grain Partitions with 42.0 grains of IMR-4350, and while the load is very accurate, I am getting some pressure signs. I will be stepping my load down I think the old adage about working up loads carefully may be even more valuable with the .243.

My load was 43gr of IMR 4350 that was from the book some very light primer catering their wesite no lists 40 grs. as being the max load i will also be backing down have you tried the 85 gr partitions?

It is my understanding that in recent years with better pressure testing equipment problems have been found with the 243. It is said with 100gr bullets there can be sudden spikes in pressure especially with worn throats. I believe this is why you see that a lot of data has lowered powder charges in the 243.
