Remington Model 700 Mountain Rifle DM

Ha, just made an interesting inference here. The 700 Mountain Rifle DM looks like an exact replica of the 700 CDL. Well, almost an exact replica. Same stock, same design. Just that the stock is squared on the CDL and the CDL appears to be a little shorter in length. Check it out.

It also seems that the 700 Moutain Rifle is the better looking of the two. And I think I'd rather have the DM instead of the LSS version. Every man to his own.  :D

What in the world are you talking about? You have me grossly confused here.

The CDL stock is identical to the LSS Mtn. Rifle stock in all dimensions except the inletting. The barrel on the CDL is thicker and longer. Otherwise all dimensions on these guns are the same. There is nothing squared about the CDL stock.

I hate detachable magazines which is the biggest reason I've not bought a standard Mtn. Rifle in .280 Remington. Well that and the fact I like laminated stocks and it won't do nuttin my 7-08 won't.  :)

The new CDLs are pretty much what the Mtn. Rifle was when it first came on the market. The barrel contour is a wee bit thicker and longer. Otherwise they are pretty much identical to those old orginal Mtn. Rifles.

I have it in a 30-06. bad move-the rifle is too light to handle the very heavy recoil and you start to flinch before each shot; If you are going to shoot a lot buy a 7-08;

270 is ok; the mountain rifle is a great gun since I hunt in in rugged hills and it's nice not to carry all that weight; look for a lighter bullet as possible. I'd buy a new rifle but I have no more room in the safe.

Heh heh...this is true :)

About $1,000 for another 22 gun fireproof safe then about $800 for the gun then maybe another hundred or two for a scope, so that's about $2,000. Re-finance :)  :-D .  :D
