Hi All,
You may remember that a while back I bought a .308 HB Survivor . Well, I decided that I really wanted a HB .308 with laminated wood.
So, I ordered the Ultra Varmint .22 Mag from Wally's, but their supplier didn't get any in stock in a month.
So, last Monday I changed my order and switched to the Ultra Varmint HB .223 Rem. It came in today and I couldn't be more pleased with the swap. Now, I have a 22" barreled HB .308 in laminate and what appears to be a .223 HB Survivor with a 24" barrel.
Both actions lock up nice and tight!
Now, to the .223's! I have a Contender with a .223 T/C bull barrel that did not come from their custom shop. When inserting a cartridge into this barrel, I almost have to force the cartridge in, as if pushing the plunger in a syringe(no I'm not an addict-I do work in a lab though)! Factory or handload, it doesn't matter.
There is considerable more room in the Ultra Varmints chamber. The cartridge will just fall in on its own. Can't wait to compare how these two shoot!
