HD Pardner Pump !!
« on: February 25, 2005, 04:04:12 PM »
Just cruised thru the SportSouth site.  Much to my surprise, they list a Pardner pump model with 18in cyl. barrel and synthetic stock.  Not in stock yet, of course, but they are gonna make one.  One would think that once they fill production orders you could order just the barrel for your PardnerPump.  Wonder if you will have to send it in to be fitted, same as the SS Pards.  None of this is listed on the HR/NEF site, yet.  It may be next year before we actually see them.
Anyway, just thought all you pump fans might like to know that.

If you were going to send it to the factory for fitting, it would have to go all the way to CHINA!! the china issue has been discussed to death here so I won't launch into it again. The barrel is changed just like an 870.

thats the bad part from what i hear about 200 so for maybe 50 more you could get a remington so its really a hard call to make.

Sorry guys, I guess I must have missed a few posts on the pumps.  As for the price, they have been goin' for $149-$159, up here in the Mpls, MN area, ever the first of the year.  I guess I don't know about when they first hit the market up here.  At that price if ya end up beatin' it up a bit you won't feel so bad.  I liked the feel of 'em but I like the feel of my Pardner SS a lot more.

Anyone have a Pardner pump and a 870 express to compare?

Do the Pardner pumps take Remingtong choke tube?

Don't know why I am asking other than curiosity! I don't need another pump, but you never know...

I would rather by the 18.5" barrel Pardner 870 copy than the Norinco 98 wich is an 870 copy.

I like the name better.

i had an express and the pardner is wayyy nicer. real walnut, better fit and finish too....and none of that cheesy matte finish that collects rust that remington uses.

i am going to buy one soon just to have an extra gun around....cant beat the price.

I think Norinco is the manufacturer of the pardner pump. I'm sure some one will correct me if I'm wrong.

I ready somewhere that the Pardner Pump takes the Mossberg/Winchester style choke tubes.  I know it is not the Remmington, I had one and the tubes were different.  They will go like Hotcakes in the 18.5 barrel, if they keep the price down.  So far the Mossy is the cheapest 2-barrel set I have seen, w/18.5 barrel included.
