According to net and magazine writer Dean Speir a short version of the .45acp will be chambered in the 9mm size frame.

It could fill a niche I suppose, the cartridge OAL is 1.1 and reportedly loaded to .45acp+P specs which isn't difficult.
The base frame is the G-17/22 which has plenty of room for the stubby to hold the mandated 10 roundsand likely more for LEO.
Many hands are better fitted by the G-17 than the G-21, enjoy!
