Good Prices
« on: February 21, 2005, 04:10:01 AM »
I was in the Sports Authority this weekend and noticed they had NEF 12 gauge shotguns on clearance for $49.95 and 22 rimfires with synthetic stocks for $79.99.  If you have one of these stores locally you may want to check it out.  I will be heading back as they had plenty in stock.

Good prices? THOSE ARE GREAT PRICES!!! I wish they had those stores in the frozen Northeast. I just ended up paying about $110.00 for a Sportster, it was part of a stock trade so that makes it more palatable, but those still are great prices. What part of the country has those stores? Buy one of each!!!...<><....

I live in Omaha, NE.  I was planning on at least getting the sportster, although the 12g would be a great truck gun.

Well, I just did a search and found a store about 40-45 miles away in Plymouth MA. I called and spoke to a guy in sporting goods. He said they do not have any single shot H&R's and cannot order guns. They only get and sell what the company sends them (?). He also said that the company is thinking perhaps in the future of making it possible for stores to order guns and also that some stores are dropping guns altogether. It seems a strange way for a big company to operate, just send guns willy-nilly to stores for them to sell with no local input as to what each store may get, then to contemplate allowing some stores to order guns while dropping guns completetly from others..Oh well, the new american anti-gun business plan, all screwed up....<><....

The guy I spoke to said that they were clearancing out these guns to make room for next years new products.  The did have a few other clearance guns, but the NEF's were by far and away the best deal.  He told me when the store was out that was it.

This is exactly why this company is closing stores all over the country...they were one of the best places at one time here in the mid-west...but since the stores gun policy has changed...they have lost the bulk of their buisness...I've actually been treated better in Walmart's Sporting Goods department...with more knowledgable people working there than at S.A.

I called one in the Atlanta area too . . . ask to speak to the person in the gun department and the lady they transferred me to had to just read off the names of the guns in the racks . . . she could not tell what any of them were.   Alas . . . not a single NEF in the bunch!

Sports Authority and Oshmans are now one and the same. Have both here in SC. Neither have much of a gun selection, but will have a very good deal occasionally. Did see the synthetic rimfire for $79. last week. Just bought a .17 hmr last week, but may have to pick up the .22 if they still have them. At least S.A. is handling some handguns again. They dropped them several years ago, but had a few last time I was in.

Well I went and bought one of the 22 rimfires for $79.99 last night.  I noticed that they had Bushnell Trophy  3x9x40 scopes on clearance for $69.99, less than they were selling the Banner models.  I may have to make a return trip.
