Ruger has changed it's gun finishes on the 10-22 series over the many years of production.
1. The orginal blued 10-22 had black anodized receivers up through the late 1970's-middle 1980's. The finish was changed to black epoxy paint at that time and continues to present production.
2. The stainless steel 10-22 had anodized aluminum receivers when first introduced in the early 1990's, and I believe, present production continues this. However, I've not examined one in several years, so it may have changed.
