"The reason people are confused [about personal retirement accounts], I believe, is that they hear Republicans say [they] won't solve the problem. That confuses them because for more than 30 years conservatives and free-market advocates have been saying, correctly, just the opposite. Properly designed, personal retirement accounts not only will achieve solvency, they are the only sustainable way to do so and at the same time provide workers higher retirement benefits without raising taxes or increasing the retirement age." --Jack Kemp ++ "Bankruptcy recognizes that in order to fix the problems you have created, you've got to start doing things differently. One good first step for doing things differently is to acknowledge that Social Security and Medicare are welfare programs." --Star Parker

Wealth and financial security are not guranteed.
Neither is S.S. or welfare.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over, expecting a different outcome.

We need to try something different with SS because we keep doing the same thing over and over and “gee” we get the same results!

If "private accounts" is such a bad idea, why are 401(K), IRA's, and Keohs so popular?  I know!   They're for people who WORK and SAVE!

I think we should scrap SS completely and just euthanize everyone at age 69.   We'd save a crap load of money the first year and it'd give the grave digging industry a boost.
