Yes, DT ammo is a quality operation owned/started  by a lifelong reloader.
His stuff actually lives up to the velocities on the boxes and is very accurate. This is a good chance for you to support a young company that actually cares about shooters and getting the most out of your chosen caliber! :biggun:  :money:  :agree:

I haven't heard of them before; the ballistics seem quite incredible though.  What really took the cake for me was this particular load:  http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=42

Very creative!

Wonder if maybe they will come out with one for 45 ACP.  That would be interesting.

I thought the name was sort of misleading..Doubletap....I thought you were referring to some ol military loads that were 'piggy-back' bullets...the kind that separate and make two hits.....  On another note....I really enjoyed the flood of pop-ups that came with the link...close one...2 more pop up......won't go there again.

I get no popups... you sure it isn't spyware already on your machine?

There's various types of ammo available at Double Tap including the sort of duplex cartridge you described.  Maybe your computer problem kept you from getting the right info.

I didn't get any advertising popups with either browser: Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.  Unless you are referring to the little information windows under the cursor, you may want to check your computer as suggested.

Double Tap ammo is a favorite among 10mm fans.  The ammo enjoys a good reputation for quality on other shooting forums (e.g. THR, TFL) also.

I'll have to try it again.  I got flooded with pop-ups and it was the only thing new that I opened.  I was so busy closing new windows....I didn't get a thorough look around.  I WOULD like to see their info on those duplex loads.

I just went there and didn't get one popup.  My blocker didn't even kick in.

Pretty cool ammo.

I've talked with Mike Mcnett of Double Tap Ammo and he says that he cannot ship his ammo to Canada.

Now if your shooting a 10mm and can reload........

Go to www.glocktalk.com scroll down to the 10mm reloading section and check out Mike Mcnett's load data.

With his load data I'm getting 135gr Nosler HP's @ 1750fps, 190gr Sierra FPJ @ 1300fps and 200gr XTP's @ 1280fps from a 5" KKM barreled G20 10mm.

I don't trust 1050 fps to expand a jhp

Have you TIMED your repeat hits with  135 grs at  1750 fps?  That's a 24 factor recoil, like  230 grs at  1100 fps, vicious stuff. Misses and poor hits  are the rule in combat, not the exception. So repeat hit speed is a bit issue.

Double Tap ammo is high quality stuff.  Even more so since 9mm 147-gr. Gold Dots at 1,010 fps were just released on Aug. 15, 2005.
45 ACP 230-gr. Double Tap Gold Dot = 1,010 fps / 15.3" & .95"    :D
