Handi in 204 Ruger
« on: February 28, 2005, 06:13:38 AM »
I was at one of the local Gun shops around here on Friday and I saw a new Handi in 204 Ruger for $229. I'm not in the market for a new gun (well, I'm always in the market for a new gun) but I have just gotten my new 22 Mag bbl back from the factory and haven't even shot it yet.

But, I kept going back & checking out the 204. It was the only Handi they has that wasn't a shotgun. No Sportsters either.

Thankfully, the pallet-wood stock looked as if it was from an asphalt shingle pallet that had been moved by an inexperienced forklift operator and set down in a peat bog for a year. That was just what I needed to be able to walk away.......Phew!!

That was Friday...I wonder if its still there

Truth be told I am not sold on a 204 ruger yet.Can it do something a 22-250 or 223 can't do.somebody tell me if I am crazy for thinking this.I also like as rifle I can find ammo for that dosen't cost a arm and a leg.Plus the 223 and 22-250 are proven rounds.

I'd have to say, that if my .223 didn't shoot 'lights-out' with the cheap Winchester White Box ammo (I'm still trying to duplicate that performance in a handload) that the topic of my post would have been different :-D

Between my .223, my .17 HMR and the .22 Win Mag that I've yet to shoot, I'm a pretty happy varminter
