Got me some new nipples
« on: March 01, 2005, 01:11:08 AM »
At the advice of about everyone I got 4 sets of Treso Nipples for my Pietta's. Haven't shot em yet but I tried some caps on em and popped em off. Rem#11 pretty much fall off. Just cycling the action two live caps fell off and bound everything up. Rem #10 are snug but can be seated. CCI #11 are a little less snug but work, much tighter than the Rem #11. RWS 10.75 seem bout the overall best for ease of seating and staying on.
What size are Y'all using with Treso?????
Also Due to about 2 ft of snow looks like I ain't gonna be shootin em for a spell. How much different will the various caps react (fit) when firing a full charge?? I'd like to stock up but I'd hate to find out that the cap that worked fine in the basement with no powder sucks at the range.

I use Remington #11's on mine, and don't have a problem with falling off. :?

I use CCI #11's on all of mine.  Put them on with a straight line capper. then with a flat end push stick (deer antler) push them on till tight.  Worked for 120 rnds. at WR this yr.  No jambs, caps falling off, or squibs.  Mason Stilwell did the same on his 58's.
