I've been selling a high percentage of WLN and WFN bullets for the 50 caliber revolvers. However, I don't reccomend them, but would use a 400 or heavier LFN if I were carrying one of these guns for large bears. Also, I wouldn't drive it faster than 1400 fps, though the capability if far higher than that.
No matter how you slice it, a 400 gr pistol bullet is heavy, and mean if it has a wide meplat and is moving promptly when it hits. However, if you feel more comfortable by getting more of the power potential of the gun, up the bullet weight to 450 gr in the lesser ctgs, or 500 gr for the S&W, but still keep the velocity to around 1400 fps max, though these also can be driven faster in the S&W.
