Hmmm....jamming after a couple of hundered rounds. It could be ammo, but if I was you, I would take the gun back...post haste. It's probably something simple, but why not take the time to have someone look at it before you get too far down the road. That pistol should eat most anything you can feed it. I wouldn't do anything to the gun before it was fixed to your satisfaction.
I ran a few thousand of rounds through my Govt. Model, before I ran into my first feeding problem. Once I thoroughly cleaned the gun and switched to standard velocity target cartidges, the jamming disappeared. If my memory serves me correctly, the gun accumulated a lot of trash shooting hollow-point "picnic shells", that I bought in bulk, from Mr. Sam.
