There are many stock wood suppliers and in my experience all will stand behind their wood.  As being what they described it as.  I've had good experiences with Wenigs in Lincoln, Missouri and GreatAmericanGunstock in the west(California I think).  The both have websites and great selections of wood.  There are also mills that sell stockwood directly to the maker.  There is also a company that specializes if longrifle stocks. Blanks, pre-carved, and just inlet.  Can't remember the name just now but they advertise in MuzzlewBlasts and MuzzleLoader magazines.
