.357 mag too much?

I have a Winchester model 94 chambered in .357 magnum that I would like to start hunting coyotes and such with, but is this caliber too much?  I've never done any kind of varmint hunting, just big game, so any help is greatly appreciated! :D

If "too much" means you're worried about blowing up the hides, then stay away from HP factory ammo. Even some SP factory stuff(lighter bullets) will still blow huge holes in hides.

If you, or a friend handload, here's my favorite predator load. It's fairly fur friendly, and doesn't even blow up a foxes hide unless it hits a shoulder on exiting.

125g Remington SP
7.5g of Unique
CCI 550 primers

This load has proven extremely accurate in a wide variety of revolvers, and rifles to boot.

Before getting my 30-30 TC I used my 357 Dan Wesson Supermag with 180gr Speer FMJ bullets. Never got any expansion at all. Use a good 180gr deer bullet and make your shot otherwise it will punch straight through and you will loose the yote.
