I am not a coyote caller but have read several places that you should set up with one person with a rifle who watches upwind and a partner with a shotgun who watches downwind. I should think it would be the other way around in that a predator would try to sneak in upwind and present a standing shot. If he comes in from upwind he has thrown caution to the wind (pun intended) and would present a running shot better dealt with by the man with the shotgun. Apparently, my reasoning is flawed, can anyone explain this to me.
