Well if any of ya know about Montana, we got some open spaces.  Well it looks like a forsure deal for me.  Petroleum County looks like it will be my new stomping grounds in the near future.

Open prairie with long range shooting and prairie dog towns   and during the regular hunting season... mule deer, elk and prong horns (antelope).

Looks like I will be with the PCSO  8)

Thats great Jon, It could not have happened to a better and more deserving guy. I for one know you have an affliction that all good L.E.O.'s suffer from. An insatiatable desire for the truth and being burdened with an unusually large amount of ethics and honesty. I, as one of the retired from that calling am proud to say I know you. I would go through any door with you buddy, I know you would have my back....<><....

Thanks guys... I'm not there yet, many things can happen while along the way as when moving the newly appointed and my friend Sheriff Dave Knodel we encountered a bad accident last Thursday evening.

We were all lucky in the respect of it all, and it could have been much worse than it was.  Out of 8 injured, only one had to be life flighted out, and those that had to be seen at hospital rolled by ambulance.  I was injured with minor strains and pains and did not have to be treated.

Everyone from my understanding is doing much better.

But the kind of work that we do, you just take it all in stride and continue on.

MSP Ret, you know I would have your back covered as well.  This will be a very quiet ride compared to the last 3 years as you may already know.

Hope everything goes really well for you. I have a little ranch in South Dakota that I hope to retire to soon. I am retired but the wife has a few years to go yet. Our place is over run with Mule deer and coyotes. Lots of wide open country there as well. Are you going to dust off the prairie dogs Sharps style :) ?
shot placement is everything.

The prairie dog population will get a healthy workout from my Remington Rolling Block 45-90 and shooting those big 550-gr pills.  The funny thing is that by any of them hear the shot, one or more will have been dusted.

My son will probably love trying the repro Sharps.

I also will be giving them a workout from my Remington 700 ADL in .223 with a 6x24x44 scope on top    The Rolling Block will be more fun to shoot.

I just love tax returns.... I get to keep all my rifles and still get the Remington Rolling Block and a new Glock

Looks like you'll be having lots of fun. I doubt we'll see much out of you since you'll be blasting those pds with the 45. Now if I were you I would practice with the Glock on the little jaybirds :-D Montana sure sounds like a nice place to live to me, but I think I'll stay in Ohio for now.
take care, and be careful.
