Anyone ever used Blue Magic Metal Polish on handis?
« on: February 28, 2005, 04:01:29 PM »
well i searched around the neighboring towns and couldnt find the FLitz metal polish, but i found some of this Blue Magic, that my buddy had and was just wondering if anyone has used it and if it will be safe to use, i dont understand what the metal polish does to the bore, ive never used it before on guns, but you guys seem to swear by it. whats the best way to apply this and how to i get it all rubbed out of the bore, just curious and want to do it right so i dont mess anything up   thanks for any replys. here is a link to a site that sells the stuff.http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription.asp?10130

thanks
Hazard :D

Hazard, all the metal polish does is smooth the bore, just like a lot of shooting does, but without the copper build up and essentially, the polish will reduce copper build up.

thanks quick, i think ill give this stuff a whirl, from what i understand i should coat a patch and run it through the bore back and forth 50 times without stopping, then run dry patches through until they come out clean?  And also be sure the bore is ABSOLUTELY clean before applying the polish.  If i am nnot correct on this procedure will someone clarify me.

thanks

Sounds good, but you need to change patches every few passes.

Yes, it wouldn't hurt to use your normal cleaning routine after you get done polishing, then oil it like normal, you're doing great!!
