As to caliber depends on if you like the boom and bang--pretty much all top shooters are using .38 Sp but it's all in what you want. I have .45's and .32 for the Mrs.
The old stype Vaqueros can be loaded hot, not the new model ones, though.
I've done business over the internet and thinking if I could save $100 or so on one gun--would go a long way to starting to save $$ for the other 3 I would need but nice thing about CAS is you can do what you want and there are no Style Police to judge your purchases.
