I sent my Target model to NEF for repair, they received it 1/31/05. I'd had several conversations with customer service, mainly with John and Gordon. My bore is .376/.379, my chamber is a bit on the tight side, and the barrel didn't lock up properly.
Gordon from customer service called today and said that they replaced the barrel catch, correcting the lockup problem I had. He also said that the reason they'd had it so long was they were waiting for some carbide reamers and ran one into my chamber "to give me a bit more headspace". I responded that I didn't need headspace I needed .005" more diameter. But since they went and re-reamed it with a new reamer I most likely got a few more thou. where I wanted it. Gordon also offered to send me a check for what I paid for the rifle, either right then or after receiving my rifle back if I wasn't satisfied. How can you beat that?
So I asked for them to ship the gun so I could try it out. Gordon said they'd fired it with Winchester factory ammo and it "shot good". When I asked at what range, he said they only shoot at 100 yards.
So, I'm looking foreward to getting it in early next week. Hopefully It'll accept my handloads using .380" diameter cast bullets.
