Rechambering .22 Hornet Handi to .22 K-Hornet??
« on: March 02, 2005, 11:52:03 PM »
Has anyone re-chambered a .22 Hornet to .22 K-Hornet?  How difficult is it to do using rented reamers?

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I had an offer to use a K-Hornet reamer and turned it down.  The dies costs too much and I get good enough performance out of the regular Hornet to mess with bumping it up to K.  If I have a need to go faster, I just switch to a .223 Handi.

Hopefully I will get to order my new barrel and still do it this year.  I did do the max last year and wow what a piece of cake.  Took about 3 or 4 turns and I was done.  If the k-hornet is TWICE that hard it will still take less than 15 minutes.

I just like having a nice little quite cartridge that most people have never even heard of  .  But hey that's just me.

I will let you be the guinea pig and you can let us know.
I must be crazy.
