William - I don't believe Colt makes a ramped barrel in the 38 Super.  But, even so I feel $750 is way too much for that piece.  If the barrel is ramped, it is an aftermarket barrel, I believe.  And I do not think Colt even made bull barrels for the 38 Super.  All of that is aftermarket stuff that some gunshop had to put together.

And, BTW, don't you already have a 9x23??????  Mikey.

Mikey-
well the 9x23 is on hold--have rethought this more than I should. I like the 9x23 but maybe the .38 super makes more sense.
This would be a new Colt as I cannot seem to come across a  super at a less than new price.
If I could be pretty certain I would not end up with the cost of a used one At about $1200, well, ya know. It just takes me awhile to make up my mind, whatever is left of it, that I am not doing something I would kick myownself for I will do it.
The thing is I bought that FN5 when I was out looking for the 9x23 or super.
Now I have really enjoyed that 5.7x28, It is a real keeper. So why do I want another gun---OH, I see I am askin tha wrong folks.
The problem is finding a Colt, which is what I really want or even, finding a full size, which is what I AM gonna get, not a compact or kimber compact.
I can find one at collectors firearms here in Houston town, but dang they is a proud bunch. I could order a new combat colt, wait 6 months and spend 2KKKKKKKKKK, my finger just go wild typing numbers that big.
I really do not like the idea of buying used on the inernet, so gunbroker and gunsamerica is out. Besides I have not seen much better there.
I will figger it out.

williamlayton,
Have you checked Fountain Firearms(fountainfirearms.com) or Bill Carter's bunch? Baileys House of Guns may have one lying around. I have some range privileges at Baileys I'll inquire tomorrow.... and yes those guys at Collectors are extremely proud of their acquisitions   :D .

Cartrer's country in Pasadena does or maybe I should say hasn't had either the times I have looked.
Do not know of fountain, need to look into that. Now if money, and that is a relatiave term I guess, were no object then both could be readily had at collectors. I may have to break down and use them though. It is just a FEW $$$$'s more--I just hate to spend a new price for a used one.
The ones I have looked at there are gooduns though, those folks know their weapons and do not charge more than they are ???worth??? all relative I guess.

Now, I remember seeing one at one of the last 3 or 6 Pasadena gunshows.  Don't remember the price, I was searching for a 45 on that trip and didn't find ANY with my pricing.  Do you make it to the local shows?
