Floating the forend with BP barrel
« on: March 06, 2005, 05:06:55 PM »
Hey guys I have been pretty pleased with the accuracy of my TC 270 barrel with various factory loads ( 1.25 with 130 remington corelocts and under 1 with federal premium 130 bt).  All I did was free float the barrel with o rings and change springthe in the trigger to get it shooting like I wanted.

Im getting ready to try the bp barrel. I noticed the forearm wood is rubbing the reciever just a tad on the right side.  Should I relieve this pressure before attempting to set it up?

Also should I go ahead and free float the bp barrel with o rings before attempting to set it up .

Im wondering if any of you other encore bp shooters have had to do a little tweaking in these areas to get good accuracy.

Any suggestiongs would be appreciated

My only thought on BP forearm is if you add washers or o-rings it won't hold the ramrod tight. Mine works good out of the box after finding a good load.
