I shot my hunter gun for the first time in a year.

Man is it hard.

So, I say to you:

If you want high score shoot your standard gun, if you want to become a better shooter, "shoot the hunter gun!!!!!"

I say again, "shoot the hunter gun!!!!!"

ahhh my very good friend... it is hard because you shoot it twice a year! with today's hunter stocks, triggers, and actions i don't think you give up much to the standard rifles. shoot it every match or, at least, more often!

I 'heard' that Lucho has a new hunter gun that's, for all practical purposes, a laser. Built like a Rolex. Cost more than a Brazillian mistress. Shoots Remington bulk into 1/4 moa...and then it gets better!

According to what I've been told, this thing is SOOOOOOOOOOOO good that all the shooter has to do is remember the sight settings and everything else is automatic.................................

I'm trying desperately to learn whether the rumor that the stock colors were specifically chosen to annoy/distract/disorient everyone else on the line is true?

if lucho's rifle won't automatically adjust the sight settings we might be safe! we can mess with him enough to get him to screw that up. Marv was telling me it is pretty darn fine. you see his rifles all over the line up here and each seems prettier than the next!

I didn't want to brag. I haven't shot it off the bench but I did shoot it in a match.

It seems to hit where the dot is pointed. Marv did another great job. He really does good work.

Here are some details:

54.18 action
Mark Pharr stock
25 inch Shilen barrel
Marv Pearson rings and base
With my Leupold 24BR it weighs in at 8lb 5oz. Holds great.
And yes I picked the colors.

In my first match I shot a 40/60. I will be shooting it almost exclusively from now on.

Doesn't that violate rule 3.1.1 -- the part that says 'common hunting rifle'?
(I never saw a hunting rifle with a forearm that color...and Keith's asked me to run tech again this year so I'll have to check on it!)

Seriously, that's nice! I'm thinking that Mark's new stock addresses all the small issues with the older designs and you've put together what has to pretty much define today's 'state-of-the-art'. I'll look forward to seeing it in person. If I ignore the color violation can I shoot it once or twice? :wink:
