where to cut cane poles in southern missouri

i am a cat fisherman in southwestern missouri and i am seeking a place in missouri, oklahoma or arkansas to cut cane poles for catfishing...can anyone help

Dustan, I've used river cane for limblines, and quite frankly, I do not like em. They will not hold up to large cats. I have a bunch in my shed that I would give away if you are ever close to Claremore OK.

I would suggest looking for other sources for your poles.

I like willow, and if beavers aren't too thick (they eat em) I would recommend willow....river birch works well, mimosa is good.....persimmon is good, hickory is good.

Look for a place where the young trees are growing close together which causes them to grow tall and thin, like the cane, but they will be stronger.
