Any comments or experiences would be appreciated. I think I got a good deal on a .308 after looking close at them for about 2 years.
Going to the range tomorrow.

Large powerful and accurate. You can improve the trigger with a little effort. I had one in 260 Remington & still have one in 223. I like them. I even have a smaller Sport Striker in 17 rimfire. It is very accurate too. Have fun at the range.

I have one in .223 and another in .22LR - the triggers need some attention, other than that - they shoot great.

Ace hardware sells music wire. Make yourself a new spring out of thinner stock and replace the existing spring. It will improve the trigger pull greatly.

I shot a friend of mines about a year or so ago. It was very accurate! His is chambered in 444 Marlin, and topped with a Leupold 4x(if memory serves?)

I tore up a 6" gong at 100, and 150 yards with it off bags. All I can say is that the 444 in that gun will really work on your hands, and arms! It's not something I'd care to own myself!

8) Good choice.  I have had a Super Striker in .308 for approximately five years.  It is amazingly accurate with most ammunition, but as previously stated can use some improvement in the trigger department.  I installed a Rifle Basix trigger in mine, which helped a lot.  I have large hands, and relieved the upper portion of the thumbhole in mine, but  I think the Super Striker (Laminated Thumbhole Stock) has now been discontinued.

For some reason my particular gun seems to do better with bullets in the 165 gr. range.  Best factory ammo was the now discontinued Speer Nitrex with 165 gr. Grand Slam bullet.  Consistent three shot 100 yard groups of 1", or under.  Next best factory ammo I have found is Winchester Ballistic Silvertip in 168 gr..  With a good rest, you will give up nothing to a rifle when hunting.

A word of advice, the factory pillar bedding is excellent on 99% of the Strikers.  DO NOT screw with the bedding unless you are sure it is a problem.  I know a few guys who thought they would "improve" their guns, and ended up making them worse.   Good luck.
No such thing as too dead.

A great deer gun. Here in Indiana, It's the only way to get those long range shots.
I bought it with out the factory muzzle brake. I couldn't hold it down on the bench. Sent it to Magna port for their magna brake. I ended up with a longer barrel length than if I had bought one with a factory break.
Shot like a dream, 3" groups @ 200yds.  I shoot a 125 nosler balistic tip @ 2850 fps, loaded by a friend. It dropped a 200 lb+ buck @ 40 yds. He went down in 15 yds.
